I get really sad when people say things like “that’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me” or “you’re the nicest person I’ve ever met” when I’m just doing things like respecting their boundaries or not actively being an asshole just because I have the opportunity to.
That someone could be so abused and mistreated by so many people that something that barely meets the level of basic human decency is the nicest thing someone has ever done it hurts my heart so much.
no one deserves to be treated badly. No one deserves to have their boundaries ignored and crossed or be manipulated.

You deserve kindness and love. Not cruelty and apathy.You are not hard to love. You are not hard to care about. The people who make you feel like that are terrible people and you deserve better.
It isn’t a hardship to treat you like a human being, it’s what you deserved all along.
